Can you believe what is happening in our cities right now?

I feel like i have to write a post about this just as i'm so friggin angry!!

Firstly, the guy that got shot - it has come out today that there is no evidence that he fired his gun.....well does that make it ok that he was carrying a gun!?? A small protest because he was shot by police when he was carrying a gun still has no standing! If you carry a gun what do you expect to happen to you?? It also seems to have slipped many peoples minds that an officer was also shot in this incident. The government cuts have retired all police overs with 30 + years experience that means all our experienced officers that are trained and are experienced in a) the original shooting and b) rioting dont work anymore! The chances are the police officer that shot Duggin was inexperienced due to government cuts.

Secondly, the original rioters that started in Tottenham probably have nothing to do with the original shooting and have simply decided that this is an excuse to cause chaos and (in their eyes) fight against the government because of all the cuts, job losses, homes lost etc. Thugs across the country saw a great opening and saw that we as a country simply dont have a) the amount of police officers required to deal with this and b) the police officers cant do anything because of Human Right Laws etc.

Thirdly, i am sickened, not only as a West Midlands Police Employee but as a English National that people are not supporting our services! In all of this over 100 police officers have been injured and only a few people injured innocently...... i'll ask the old advertising question for the police....Could You?

Fourthly, i really want to bring an article to your attention, especially conservative voters. David Cameron said today that all rioters would feel the full force of the law - i'm pretty certain (correct me if i'm wrong) that the sentence for rioting has a max of 10 years..... you do the math!! False statements by a man who took two days to return from his holiday when Gordon Brown returned immediately for a outbreak of Foot and Mouth!!

Wedding Blog - I'm Engaged!!

I have some exciting news!! If you follow me on Twitter you will already know that this weekend Karl proposed and we will be getting married! I'm so excited, he proposed with a lovely ring but has said it isnt the real thing and we can go and chose some real diamonds at some point!

So, its early days but I suppose we have to start somewhere. We have chosen my Chief Bridesmaids, Bridesmaids, Flower Girls and Page Boys. In total there are 10! I did think this was a lot but as Karl and I want it to be a big celebration for both of a families and friends we wanted lots of people to be involved. We've also decided the date and church.

The date was fairly easy as we both wanted summer and with us saving for the new house this year we chose August 2013 as that gives us plenty of time to save and have the wedding we want.

The church again was a very easy decision as I've always wanted to get married at Catshill Church as that is where my parents are buried and so its important that we get married in that Church.

I've also set up a website and chosen our colour scheme. That's about it so far. I shall keep you updated as things progress!

1. Are you named after anyone?
I don't think so but my parents died when i was four so i cant really ask them!

2. When was the last time you cried?
I pretty much cry at anything...I think i last cried at Our War - 10 years in Afghanistan. If you follow me on twitter you will know that I'm really into supporting charities for soldiers, doctors and nurses.

3. Do you have any kids?
No, but I'd love to soon!

4. If you were another person would you be a friend of yourself?
I'd like to think so!

5. Do you use sarcasm alot?
Yes i do, i think its a coping strategy. Today someone asked me at work what music my parents listened to when they were growing up to which i replied 'Probably 'living in a box, we're living in a cardboard box'....

6. Will you ever bungee-jump?
No never!

Erm...i like Special K, i think i eat that the most but any Kelloggs Cereals too!

Probably their face!!

Probably my puppy and Karl - he wears hugo boss and i love it. Both smells make me feel very safe.

Defo summer - i suffer with SAD so i don't like the winter!!

Both!

I think Miami...., or Boston.....

Yes, 3 sisters.

Unfortunately i am grown up - i turn 29 tomorrow and i am doing my dream career - I'm a recognised expert in fingerprints. I always wanted to work in Forensics and I've made it. I cant wait to get married and have children now I've found my perfect guy.

A Week in the Life of Kate's Nails

I couldn't think of an interested blog to write until I realised I'd taken pictures of my nails after I'd done them every day over the past week so I thought I'd do a little nail blog.

I can't remember exactly which days I painted but I remember the order and the varnishes so here goes!

I vaguely remember this nail varnish being from Primark which means it must have been cheap....I can't be 100% sure though. The colour is Shade 27113.

This colour i've spoke about several times before and its 'Spoiled Beauty' from H&M and it was £2.99. If this colour is applied slowly then its got a beautiful bright coverage.

This is obviously the same as above and £2.99 from H&M. The colour is 'Red Nail' and I love this colour, it's a really bright red!!

I've had this colour for years as it came in an Estee Lauder Set but i've never used it. The colour is Number 88 'Amethyst'. I love it but its bubbled and i'm not sure if this was because I applied my coats so quickly or because its old!

Lastly, this is my base and top coat, no idea where I got it from, but its the best I have. I definately need some recommendations on base and top coats please!!

I saw this on vintagemake.blogspot.com, the tag is totally random and I'm supposed to give 10 random facts about me so here goes....

1. I am a Fingerprint Expert and am 1 of only 800 Registered Fingerprint Experts in the United Kingdom. This means i can give my opinion on Fingerprints in a Court of Law.

2. I am a massive Birmingham City Fan, my Dad was a Blues fan, i used to go with my sisters ex boyfriend and my current bf and I have had seasons tickets for the last 2 seasons. (I cried when we got relegated!)

4. I LOVE offroading and this is mine and my bf's Offroader, his name is Oscar.

5. My puppy dog Cody is my BFF!! I love him so much and didn't think it was possible to LOVE a dog!

7. I used to be in the Eddie Stobart Fan Club and used to write down when i spotted one, now i just beep them!! I have got two Eddie Stobart Corgi Models.

H&M Nail Polish Review

I haven't done a beauty related blog and think the diet one only needs to be done on weigh in days (which is tonight!)

A few weeks ago I brought some nail varnish's from H&M for the bargain price of £2.99 each! I brought three colours.

The colours are from left to right 'U Must Have This', 'Red Nail' & 'Spoiled Beauty'

I wasn't expecting much as they were only cheap but I was pleasantly surprised! The blue is a wicked colour and one I wouldn't usually wear and the pink and red were just as good as any expensive nail varnish I've brought before.

I managed to team up the pink with some stick on glitter bits on my toes and they are really pretty for the summer.

I also used the glitter bits on my thumbs along side the red, so far I've had them on for two days with no chipping so i will keep you informed about how long it lasts!!

Young, Earning but Living with Parents....

So I said I'd write blog on how we've recently got our house without needing to be earning millions and only having a small deposit. Everyone is very aware at the moment that you could earn 50k a year right now but without any kind of deposit you've got no chance of getting onto the property ladder.....or have you? 

According to the AQA (figures June 2011) the average cost of a 3 bedroom house is £210,775, most mortgage lenders are offering a max of a 90% mortgage meaning no matter how much you earn you'll need a £21,077 deposit.....where the frig do we get cash from? Well, we've just secured a plot on a new estate thats being built for a 3 bedroom, 3 storey, two bathroomed town house on a new initiative that is a hidden secret. Basically the house is based on a 50% shared ownership whereby we part buy at £79,950 (a deposit of only £8k) and part rent at £217 a month. I know part ownerships can be a bit of a loss but as it's a 3 bed we won't be moving for a long time and so cam still save for a deposit on the next property! 

This scheme was set up by my towns local housing trust and a shared ownership company - they have certain criteria that you have to meet to be eligable but as soon as you've passed that they send you properties That are available and suitable for you!! You can get all types of properties that require lower deposits, obviously the bigger deposit you can save means you'll get a better deal. Saving a deposit on the big scale of things shouldn't be a massive hold back.... ditch the luxuries for 1 year, it's only a year and someone earning £15k a year should easily save at least £6k!!

Diet Day Eight and New House!

Hello, just a quick update following my weigh in last night......I lost 2lbs making me 11st 10lbs! I didn't think I'd lose anything after the weekend! I'm back on it serious today - fruit and salad, plenty of water - no alcohol!!

A good thing about having a mini alcohol break is that I'll save some money from not going out etc which is ideal at the moment as Karl and I have just put a deposit down on a plot for a 3 bedroom 3 storey new build!! I'm going to do an individual blog later on the scheme were using to get young people on the market as it's such a big topic at the moment.

My Diet - Day Four, Five, Six & Seven!

Hello!

So as some of you know i have been away this weekend hence why this is a joint day diet blog! Today is day 8 of my diet.

Day four went OK, i exercised for about 20 mins with Cody and ate the following:

 

Breakfast

2 x Brown Toast 

Lunch

A Big Tomato

An Ice Lolly

A Cup of Tea

 

Tea

Salad (Again i had no lettuce so it was sweetcorn, red onion, spring onion, chunks of carrot, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, celery, orange pepper, olive oil and peri peri powder)

1 Glass of Squash

1 Glass of Water

 

Snacks

2 pieces of Lemon Drizzle Cake!!

 

Days 5, 6 and 7 might as well be a write off, I've got no will power when it comes to going away for the weekend, although I did have a wicked weekend pretending i was a cast member of TOWIE and on a good note I did a lot of dancing on Sunday night! Oh and I ain't meat so that went out the window to - like I say no will power and with the weigh in coming later I am not looking forward to it!

My Diet - Day Three

So I've made it to day three of my diet....more exercise today....a whole hour today with Cody and i even did it in the rain! I also did my vlog outside again (I think that will become my favourite place to vlog)

My menu for today was

Breakfast

Bowl of Alpen with Semi Skimmed Milk

Cup of Tea

Lunch

A Big Tomato and an Apple

Cup of Tea

 

Tea

Salad (Again i had no lettuce so it was sweetcorn, red onion, a spanish onion spring onion, chunks of carrot, chilli, leek, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, olive oil and peri peri powder)

 

Snacks

A large glass of wine (and if I'm honest there will be another!)

 

I still didn't drink enough water though!! MUST drink more water. I've also realised I'm not eating meat so am going to continue this to see how i feel. Will keep you updated.

My Diet - Day Two

So today is day two of my diet. I managed more exercise today and did a 40 minute walk with Cody and even managed to film my vlog at the same time!

I haven't eaten as much as yesterday but have been naughty twice and haven't drank enough water again! Tomorrow i must drink more water! Here's my daily menu... (can you spot the two slips!)

So my aim for tomorrow - possibly a little run with Cody and consume more water!

My Diet - Day One

So I've decided that I'm dieting, I've lost weight before on the Rosemary Conley Diet and i lost around 2 stone but i put it all back on and now feel pretty god damn miserable with how i look! I'm pretty sure I've got a very low metabolic rate so usually the only way i lose weight is by exercising to the point of exhaustion! So I'm changing my diet and am going to increase the amount of exercise i do as i don't really do anywhere near enough. I'm going to stick to eating no more than 1400 calories a day and nothing with more than 5% fat in it, these are pretty much the rules of Rosemary Conley except i wont be paying £6 every week for the pleasure! Its now 11pm and here is what i have eaten today:

A Big Tomato, a Plum and an apple

Glass of Cranberry Juice

In fact, looking at that - i need to drink more water! The only exercise i did today was a 20 minute walk with the dog so will try and do a longer walk tomorrow. I've decided I'm only going to weigh myself once a week and that's on a Tuesday evening as I've just weighed myself now and my starting weight is -11st 12lbs.

My Shoe's

I've decided to get more into my blog/vlog and start putting some stuff on here that people would like to read rather than just chat about myself. I've filmed my shoe colection and put it in my YouTube channel and have decided i have alot of shoes!! I didnt even film trainers and ballet shoes as i was getting tired from putting on and taking off all my shoes! I also established i get alot of shoes from New Look. YouTube, Catch Up and Could I Have Found the Perfect House?

Haven't done a blog for ages so thought i'd do one..... My YouTube channel is picking up slowly, the views on my videos have had a little increase but i've still only got 5 subscribers but as long as the views go up at least i know they are being watched!

I haven't done amazingly well at losing weight yet...i haven't majorly changed my diet but have upped the exercise and have been running at work and with Cody (my puppy)...i think i need to take it to the next step to see some real results! Also, being a big blues fan we lost yesterday which means it goes down to the last game of the season as to whether we stay in the premiership or not....i hope we don't go down!!

Also, Karl and i viewed a 3 bed house yesterday and it was beautiful so we're just waiting on the finance to come back and i've got everything crossed that for once i get a bit of luck and we get it!

I won't leave it as long to blog again!

Losing Weight and Catch Up

Morning all,
Haven't blogged for a few days and as I haven't got any followers yet I don't think it is a great loss! I'm back to trying to lose weight - last year I lost two stone but I've put it all back on and prob a few lbs extra! Good news is I know how to shift it - Rosemary Connerly! Its the only diet that has ever worked for me and so I'm back on it! Obviously it's cheaper this time as I know the drill and don't have to pay £5 a class! Basically you can't eat more than 1400 calories a day, nothing with more than 5grams of fat per 100grams and you must do some exercise each day - even if it's ten minutes running up & down the stairs! I'll keep you updated with my progress, my starting weight is 12stone and a size 14/16 so hopefully in a few months I can be 9/10 stone and a healthy size 10/12!

I've still been doing my YouTube vids and there's 8 uploaded now so I'm going to need to do another soon, I might do a what's in my bag tag next. I only have 5 subscribers but slowly I'll get there.

How do I get started?

So, i've been blogging for about a week and have no followers so technically I'm making an online diary that only I read. How can I get followers? Secondly I've got two YouTube videos that have combined views of 38 and I swear 35 of them are me! I need more subscribers to follow me - how do people get to 1000! At least I can say haideeandkatie follow me who got me into blogging and YouTube! If I get them an extra follower or subscriber then all is not lost!!

Raaaaagghhhhh

Right so i've just done two new videos and tried to transfer them from my camera to my laptop - this works fine but when i try and play the video it says its corrupt! I'm pretty sure its because of the length of the video and nothing else.....does anybody have any ideas how to fix this?? I dont want to have to keep doing short videos and editing themso they fit together! If anyone knows an answer then please let me know!!

Too Much to Do!

I've got a busy morning planned today and the bf isn't here to help so he'll have a list of jobs when he gets back! Firstly I've got to get up and try and do my YT getting ready - make up video. Then I've got to sort out some clothes space in our bedroom and then sort all our stuff out from in the garage! Then I'm doing my nails. I was also thinking of a good YT video tag last night which I'm going to try and do on the way home from work tonight so watch this space. Gotta get up now though cause I really need a wee :-)

Such a Lazy Mare!!

Ok so I haven't quite got round to sorting my YouTube videos but thats maninly because i've only just sorted charging my camera and restoring the BF's laptop so it runs at a half decent speed! I'm on late shifts this week so i'm hoping to do my first YT video tomorrow and I may even get in a 'Getting Ready' Tag video!
